I represent The Mechanics Bank within the community and as such I work with public and private based organizations in support of affordable housing, small business, technical assistance and workforce development and training. I help people find the resources that fit their specific needs. There is a great deal of satisfaction in seeing things improve in the community and in knowing that I am carrying on a century-old Mechancis Bank tradition of community service.
ERWIN REEVES, is also Chief Operations of the Community Development Corporation (CDC) a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Mechanics Bank. The CDC furthers the bank's community-focused mission of reaching new markets and serving low income areas. In 2004, the CDC was the only California business (organized and headquartered in the state) to receive a $26 million New Markets Tax Credit allocation from the Community Development Financial Institution Fund. The funds will be used to expand lending services to qualifying businesses in low income areas in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Francisco counties.
