Using the "Take Me To" links

Online Banking's "Take Me To" feature allows you to choose what online banking page you would like navigate to when you sign in. This allows added convenience for you - navigate to a specific area for faster service!

To use the "Take Me To" feature, enter your Access ID. Then from the drop down menu, choose your destination and click "Log In." Once you log in, you will be taken to your chosen page.

The default to the "Take Me To" feature is Account List, which is the Online Banking home page. Other options include: Express Transfer, Primary Account Summary, Stop Payments, User Options, Nicknames, Transaction Search, and Transaction Export.

Where do I enter my password?

We are changing the way you sign in to Online Banking to better safeguard the privacy and security of your personal information. Previously, you signed in to Online Banking using your Access ID and Password. From now on, you'll also use your Enhanced Online Security feature, which consists of an authentication image and authentication pass phrase. Here's how this new service will work:
  • You'll enter your Access ID and click the Log In button.
  • On the next page, your authentication image will then be displayed. If you recognize your authentication image, you'll know you can safely enter your Password. If you don't recognize your authentication image and pass phrase when you log in, do not enter your password.
  • Your authentication image and pass phrase helps you know for sure that you are at the valid Mechanics Bank website.
NOTE: If you have not yet created your personalized authentication image and pass phrase with our Enhanced Online Security feature, you will be prompted to do so before you can sign in to Online Banking.

Use an export letter of credit when you sell merchandise to a foreign buyer. The buyer’s bank issuing the letter of credit advises you that payment will be made through Mechanics Bank.

Incoming and outgoing documentary collections will ensure payment of a draft with accompanying documents. Our Trade Finance Department can handle incoming documentary collections for remitting banks that initiate the collection process for their clients; and they can initiate the collection process for outgoing documentary collections for clients needing this service.

Our Trade Finance Department also handles standby letters of credit, which are commonly used to:

  • Provide monetary support for obligations such as trade payments, leases, and advance payment requirements
  • Back obligations such as performance and bid assurances
  • Substitute for collateral to enhance credit facilities
  • Support insurance obligations, including workers’ compensation
