Using the "Take Me To" links

Online Banking's "Take Me To" feature allows you to choose what online banking page you would like navigate to when you sign in. This allows added convenience for you - navigate to a specific area for faster service!

To use the "Take Me To" feature, enter your Access ID. Then from the drop down menu, choose your destination and click "Log In." Once you log in, you will be taken to your chosen page.

The default to the "Take Me To" feature is Account List, which is the Online Banking home page. Other options include: Express Transfer, Primary Account Summary, Stop Payments, User Options, Nicknames, Transaction Search, and Transaction Export.

Where do I enter my password?

We are changing the way you sign in to Online Banking to better safeguard the privacy and security of your personal information. Previously, you signed in to Online Banking using your Access ID and Password. From now on, you'll also use your Enhanced Online Security feature, which consists of an authentication image and authentication pass phrase. Here's how this new service will work:
  • You'll enter your Access ID and click the Log In button.
  • On the next page, your authentication image will then be displayed. If you recognize your authentication image, you'll know you can safely enter your Password. If you don't recognize your authentication image and pass phrase when you log in, do not enter your password.
  • Your authentication image and pass phrase helps you know for sure that you are at the valid Mechanics Bank website.
NOTE: If you have not yet created your personalized authentication image and pass phrase with our Enhanced Online Security feature, you will be prompted to do so before you can sign in to Online Banking.

If you sign up for MechDirect Bill Pay, we collect your:

  • Name
  • Address, including street address, city, state and zip code
  • Home and daytime/business phone numbers
  • Social Security Number
  • E-mail address
  • Information about your payees

If you apply to open a savings or checking account online, we collect your:

  • Name
  • Address, including street address, city, state and zip code
  • The states you have lived in for the past 5 year
  • Home and daytime/business phone numbers
  • Drivers License or State I.D. card along with issue and expiration dates
  • Date and place of birth
  • Mother’s Maiden Name
  • E-mail address
  • Employer and occupation

If you apply for a home loan online, we collect your:

  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Marital or Registered Domestic Partnership Status
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Current address
  • Home and work phone numbers
  • Employment information
  • Financial information including:
    • Income
    • Assets
    • Liabilities
    • Current Housing Costs

Information Sharing

Our policy is that we do not disclose personally identifiable information about you to anyone, except as permitted by law or as disclosed in this notice. This means that we share information about you with others under certain circumstances specifically permitted by the laws that govern us. For example, we are permitted to share information

  • in order to service your loans or accounts;
  • to respond to legal requirements;
  • to report your credit, checking and transactional experience with us to consumer reporting agencies as permitted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act;
  • to companies which perform services for us, such as check printing or electronic banking services;
  • to our regulators, accountants, auditors and others who assist us in preventing fraud or losses;

Changing Your Personally Identifiable Information

  • You may change your e-mail address for online banking by logging onto the MechDirect Internet Banking website.
  • You may change your e-mail address for bill pay by logging onto the MechDirect Bill Pay website.
  • You may change any other information by contacting us directly at 800-797-MECH.

Notification of Changes

  • We notify you of changes to our Online Privacy Policy by noting at the top the latest revision date of the policy.
