Opening a New Account - Account Submission FAQs


Thank you for your interest in becoming a client of Mechanics Bank. Below are frequently asked questions regarding our online account opening process. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Is the online account application secure?

Yes. Mechanics Bank views the security of your personal information online as a top priority. When you login to any Online Banking application from our home page or other areas of our website, your Access ID and Password are secure. When you access your account and perform transactions, we use 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology—the most widely used method of securing internet transactions available today. That means only Mechanics Bank has access to your Access ID and Password. Whenever you login to Online Banking from our website, be confident that your information will be protected by the highest security measures.

When will I know if my application that I submitted online has been approved?

Once you submit your application, you will be contacted within 2-3 days notifying you of the status of your account. Once approved, you will receive a New Account Package with your Signature Card, Opening Deposit return envelope and other important notifications and disclosures. If your account application is denied for any reason, you will be sent a written notification.

Can I save the account application and go back to it later?

No. At this time you may not save your application submission.

If you have any questions during the online account opening process, please call the Client Service Call Center at 800-797-6324 during our regular business hours of Mon – Fri: 7 AM – 11 PM, Sat – Sun: 7 AM – 4 PM.
