Online Banking's "Take Me To" feature allows you to choose what online banking page you would like navigate to when you sign in. This allows added convenience for you - navigate to a specific area for faster service! To use the "Take Me To" feature, enter your Access ID. Then from the drop down menu, choose your destination and click "Log In." Once you log in, you will be taken to your chosen page. The default to the "Take Me To" feature is Account List, which is the Online Banking home page. Other options include: Express Transfer, Primary Account Summary, Stop Payments, User Options, Nicknames, Transaction Search, and Transaction Export. |

We are changing the way you sign in to Online Banking to better safeguard the privacy and security of your personal information. Previously, you signed in to Online Banking using your Access ID and Password. From now on, you'll also use your Enhanced Online Security feature, which consists of an authentication image and authentication pass phrase. Here's how this new service will work:

Opening a New Account - Before You Apply FAQsThank you for your interest in becoming a client of Mechanics Bank. Below are frequently asked questions regarding our online account opening process. Please contact us if you have any questions. At this time we only allow for personal accounts to be submitted online. These include the following account types: Personal Checking, Personal Savings and Personal Certificates of Deposit. How long does it take to open an account online?Opening an account online takes about 7 – 10 minutes. Once the account application is submitted, you will be contacted within 2 to 3 business days to complete the process. Where do I submit an online application?You can visit www.mechanicsbank.com and apply for a Personal account within several web pages within the Personal Banking menu. Once in this area of the website, you can open an account by clicking Open New Account. You can also apply any personal product and product comparison pages of the website. Can I enroll for Personal Online Banking when submitting an account application online?At least one account must be open before Personal Online Banking access can be set up. You can sign up online or by calling the Client Services Call Center at 800-797-6324 during our regular business hours of Mon – Fri: 7 AM – 11 PM, Sat – Sun: 7 AM – 4 PM. Are checks free when an account application is submitted online?The first box of checks (limit 200) are available for select checking accounts. What do I need to apply for a consumer account online?We are required by U.S. Federal Law to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. You will need the following information to complete your application:
*If you have an ID other than a Driver’s License such as a passport, military ID please visit one of our offices to open your account. *If you do not have a Social Security number, please visit one of our offices. If I am opening a joint account, will I need to provide the same information for the joint applicant?Yes, the requirements are the same for the joint applicant. What is the minimum age to submit an application for an account online?The minimum age to submit an account application online at Mechanics Bank is 18. Do I need special software to submit an application online?No. You do not need special software, but we do recommend that the browser you are using supports 128-bit encryption and be JavaScript enabled. I am not a U.S. Citizen; can I still submit an application online with Mechanics Bank?If you have the following information you can submit your application online:

What is the minimum opening deposit when I open an account online?You will need to open your account with a minimum deposit of $100 for Checking or Savings accounts, $1,000 for Certificates of Deposit, and $2,500 for Money Market Plus accounts. If I am an existing client, can I submit for another account online?Yes. As an existing client, you can submit an application for additional accounts online. |
